In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world witnessed a shift like never before. Our routines, habits, and way of life were dramatically altered, and so were the ways we learn and grow. When the traditional confines of classrooms became inaccessible, we had to find new spaces to continue our learning journeys. This led to the inception of ESME Philippines, a digital e-learning marketplace in the country, conceived by myself, Cher Tanchico, along with co-founders Jesica Navarette and Jethro Cababan.
Unveiling ESME Philippines
ESME Philippines is more than just an e-learning platform. It’s a digital space crafted with the core mission of enabling Filipinos to upskill and reskill in the most accessible, engaging, and innovative ways possible. It’s about creating opportunities for individuals to enhance their skills, adapt to the rapidly changing world, and bounce back stronger than ever.
The Vision Behind ESME Philippines
The genesis of ESME Philippines was rooted in the realization that amidst the work-from-home setup and the pivot in income sources, we needed new ways to support each other. The solution? Digital tools and innovative technologies that make learning accessible and flexible for everyone.
Collaboration at the Heart of ESME
At ESME, we believe in the power of partnerships. We understand that a collaborative learning experience fosters growth and benefits everyone involved. Hence, we’ve joined forces with various organizations like the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO), Rotary Club, Rotaract, Start-Up Village, and more. These partnerships are a testament to our mission of building trust and fostering community growth.
Building ESME: A Journey of Ups and Downs
Like many startups, the journey of building ESME Philippines has been one of highs and lows. With no initial investors, we bootstrapped our way to success, relying on our resources, capabilities, and the strong collaboration between Jesica, Jethro, and myself. This approach proved fruitful, leading to collaborations with industry names such as Ricky Lee, Jose Magsaysay, Shermon Cruz, Carl Dy, Nene Tamayo, Summer Carullo, and brands like Shoppertainment, Una Ricci, Transunion, Spectrum Properties.
Education: A Lifelong Investment
One of the driving forces behind ESME is the belief that education is a lifelong investment, something that can never be taken away. Our vision is to foster skill learning that will ideally improve the lives of at least 15% of the Filipino population.
The ESME Learning Experience
The ESME learning experience is designed to be enriching, flexible, and inclusive. With weekly live webinars and detailed, self-paced courses, we offer a multitude of learning opportunities. Our subscribers have access to unlimited content and comprehensive courses that cater to a myriad of interests. With ESME, education, and innovation are truly at your fingertips.
